How to find the date weeks from a date
Multiply the number of weeks by 7 to get days, then add that many days to the start date. Six weeks from today is 42 days from today. The calculator handles month lengths and leap years for you, and shows the day of the week, so you can see straight away whether a deadline lands on a weekend.
How to count weeks between two dates
Count the days between the dates and divide by 7. The whole number is the number of full weeks, and the remainder is extra days. For example, 100 days is 14 weeks and 2 days. If you need a decimal, 100 ÷ 7 = 14.29 weeks.
Handy week counts
| Weeks | Days | Roughly |
|---|---|---|
| 4 weeks | 28 | 1 month (a little under) |
| 6 weeks | 42 | 1.4 months |
| 12 weeks | 84 | about 3 months |
| 13 weeks | 91 | one quarter |
| 26 weeks | 182 | half a year |
| 52 weeks | 364 | a year less one day |
Why 52 weeks is not exactly a year
A year has 365 days (366 in a leap year), which is 52 weeks and 1 day, or 52 weeks and 2 days in a leap year. That is why the same date falls on a different weekday from one year to the next.
